Volunteer Oxford
Volunteer Oxford allows access to a variety of volunteer opportunities in the community. We are also the community nonprofits and organizations' resource for locating and recruiting volunteers when needed for projects and events.
 
History
Volunteer Oxford began in August 2011 to promote volunteerism for Lafayette-Oxford-University community. By working and building a strong network of individuals, nonprofits and businesses, Volunteer Oxford helps improve our community.We help citizens connect to an ongoing menu of volunteer opportunities for a broad diversity of community-based nonprofit partners.
 
Mission Statement
Volunteer Oxford's mission is to develop, promote and support volunteerism for Lafayette-Oxford-University.
 
Community Engaged
Volunteer Oxford engages the community by acting as a "matchmaker" for volunteers and nonprofits in Lafayette-Oxford-University. Volunteers can create a volunteer account and receive updated weekly volunteer opportunities via email. Interested individuals can also stop by Volunteer Oxford at 107 Courthouse Square (underneath Skipwith Cottage, next to City Hall) to find a listing of volunteer opportunities.
 
Recruiting Volunteers
Volunteers are recruited through businesses & corporations; university & high schools; faith communities; social & civic groups; and the community at large. Nonprofits and Organizations Benefit
Volunteer Oxford aims to respond to the needs of the community serving in public, private nonprofit or health agencies throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University community. National Days of Service
By engaging the community in National Days of Service, Volunteer Oxford heightens awareness about volunteering while inspiring others to give back to our community through acts of volunteerism. National Days of Service include the 9/11 Day of Service and MLK Day of Service. To find out how you can be involved with these National Days of Service, contact Volunteer Oxford.
